| This is the first store outside
New York for shoe designers Kari Sigerson and Miranda Morrison.
Conceived as a soft shop to contrast with the hard sculptural
quality of shoes, the walls and surfaces are formed or covered
in felt. The space is tiny and the shoe display surrounds
a central doughnut-shaped seat. A single oversized mirror
is propped against the wall. The floor is of pre-cast concrete
slabs, an extension of the pavement outside. To continue
the soft theme, the door is rubber and of an industrial
type in memory of the companies' New York origins. An enamelled
metal door slides across to lock up the store at night. |
